Our Work

Community Palliative Care

BHPCF provides palliative care persons living with serious and life-limiting illnesses – such as cancer and HIV/AIDS – from some of the most underprivileged areas in Belize City and its surrounding villages. Our team is comprised of volunteers supported by a team medical expert, providing this care free-of-charge to patients in their own homes. Our goal is to improve the quality of life of the persons so they can live free from pain for as many days as they have left

Education & Training

The Foundation offers training and mentoring for health care professionals across throughout Belize. Improving knowledge and understanding of palliative care enables healthcare professionals to meet the challenge of identifying and providing safe and appropriate care to those with life limiting conditions.

The BHPCF works closely with different stakeholders involved in the provision of services to patients with life threatening illnesses.

Advocacy

The BHPCF has been spearheading and is actively working with different stakeholders in the creation of policy and programmes focused on improving the quality of life of persons with life threatening illnesses. Part of our advocacy encourages to empower everyone in the community to becomes involved in caring for their neighbours with chronic illnesses.
